Hi, I'm Michelle Argentina, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) counseling adults in Houston and throughout Texas. I have a passion for helping people heal to achieve better mental health and happiness. I believe that everyone deserves to live their best life without the burden of depression, anxiety, or overwhelming stress.
While earning my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Texas Tech University, I completed my clinical training at a women's treatment facility. In my service there, I helped female clients with addiction and co-occurring mental health diagnoses. Sadly, I found that the majority of the ladies had suffered some type of trauma. This experience ignited my passion for supporting women on their healing journeys as their trauma counselor.
As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), I specialize in addressing all forms of trauma. This includes single incidents, complex trauma, PTSD, and childhood adverse experiences, like neglect and physical, sexual, and emotional abuse. I feel deeply honored to be a part of helping people heal and transform their lives. It’s profoundly rewarding.
My passion is to connect with you to uncover your resiliency so you can live your best life. One of the most powerful tools I bring is the ability to help you transform negative core beliefs into healthier, more positive belief systems.
One of the biggest challenges in achieving your best life is that past experiences can create negative beliefs that you carry into the present. These subconscious scripts show up as road blocks in your relationships, careers, happiness, and health. While we might appear fine on the outside, we can be struggling deeply on the inside. Sometimes we know exactly why, and other times it’s not as clear.
This is where our work together in therapy plays a crucial role in creating your best life. While you cannot change your past, you can change the negative beliefs about yourself that bad experiences created in you. Once you identify those beliefs you can untangle them and replace them with more positive, adaptive beliefs. Once you understand the obstacles, therapy empowers you to overcome them and live your life to its fullest potential.
Therapy is an act of self-care and self-compassion, promoting emotional resilience, increased self-esteem, and a greater sense of fulfillment. It empowers you to take control of your mental and emotional health and work towards living a more balanced and fulfilling life.
